Antique Victorian necklace featuring a single strand of tiny Coral stones. The coral is orange pink in colour with a smooth surface, the necklace secures with a brass push barrel clasp.
In the 19th century it was traditional for children to wear coral necklaces and it was thought to ward off diseases, illnesses, evil spirits and danger. Naples Italy were the main sources of Coral. Coral was the favourite Christening present for the Victorians.
The necklace can be gifted as a Christening gift or worn as a choker.
